Default X-Factor v4.2 Released (14-March-2005)

X-Factor v4.2 Released (14-March-2005)
Hello to everybody;
I'm glad to announce that X-Factor v4.2 has just been released and waiting all of you to download & give a try.
Post your comments to here , good or bad or requests to be fixed or added!

(P.S: if you are already using the old versions of XFactor , you SHOULD delete your registry entries that matches to xfactor and maydje and then start running XFactor v4.2 , just incase to NOT face with annoying errors due to missmatching entries with the OLD versions of XFactor. Just go to your registry Start > Run > regedit , and then FIND all entries match to xfactor and maydje and Delete them, and then start using New X-Factor v4.2)

Direct Url to Download: http://www.Xisp.org/xfactor.html

*** Release History ***

v4.2
1. Fake Detection is now working as it should be.
2. Requests should be a bit faster now due to some tweaks to the engine.

v4.1
1. NO MORE 100% CPU USAGE!!!
2. Filter List code rewritten ... it is now MUCH faster.

v4.0
1. MAJOR release. The threading model for XFactor was completely redone.
I trashed the old code, and rewrote it from scratch using newer technology.
I believe that you will find the performance to be much better.
2. Removed several bugs leading to memory leaks.
3. Improved error handling ... (no more errors on load, etc) ...
4. Improved proxy handling.
5. Fake engine rewrite.
6. Key word/phrase engine rewrite.

Thank you for your attention!

Just wanted to say, the prog is very nice. Lots of effort went into that, thanx very much for x-factor =)

only problems i've had are quite a few 404 errors, aborted on request.
I'm not sure whats going on.
btw, i can't figure out the abort button.

Overall, great job!
luv the program, very useful!

Thankyou Tempfire and all the guys thats been supporting him

Okay, for v4.2 of the x-factor,
I realized the 404 errors are because of my isp, not your program! If scanning with too many bots, I get 404's.
If anyone else is having this problem, just lower your bots to about 2 and and set bot timeout at 20 seconds check retry for 404's and timeouts, .
I may get away with it in the future when u implement the pause button. Also the abort button works, but i didn't realize it until i let it sit for awhile.
I've also learned *not* to use the delete key!

Also, i noticed in version 4.2, that it checks for fake responses regardless if i have it checked or not in options. (this may be intentional for now?)
For some reason i think the v4.1 finds true 403's more accurately and efficiently?

Hope this helps some, thankyou again very much for the prog!

Thanks everyone for the positive comments!

1. Teracotta ... The 404 .. conn aborted on req error is actually the technical phrase for a timeout .... so try checking proxies, lowering bot count, or raising timeout. That SHOULD fix it.

2. Inek ... Sorry I don't quite understand what you're talking about ... sorry about that. Could you possibly rephrase it?

Thanks again for the comments everyone. And thanks for using xfactor :)

Okay, I now understand what Inek is trying to say.

I was using some proxies which verified okay, and i realized that sometimes 403's are not bad passes. Sometimes a good proxy actually is forbidden to access adult material so it replies as a 403, which means a good pass being blocked by a valid proxy that doesn't have access to adult material! Watch out for those if your getting too many 403 responses.

Anyway, i noticed when i used only a few working proxies, there is a serious problem with redirections and if u try to left or right click the redirection reply too many times, it crashes the program. It usually hangs on redirections for too long before it crashes.

In your next release, please put in an option to mark all redirections as bad passes. (most of them are.)
For right now, even the bad keyword option won't stop a redirection no matter what.
Also, one redirection sometimes crashes the entire scan, and nothing is saved.

It would be really nice if you could implement a fix for the redirection process, maybe an option to ignore redirections or something to that matter.
(maybe check keywords, before performing redirections?)

I'll definately be looking forward to your next release. Thanks again Tempfire!
