Unhappy Proxy search problems

I'm having trouble searching google for proxies using Charon and Proxyrama. Nothing will show up using any of these tools. Proxyrama flashes 'googling' at the bottom with no progress at all. They've both worked before however now I get nothing. I havent messed with the configuration on either program. Is this an issue with Windows? Any ideas?

Thanks.

I had been using several different scripts, checking each one to see if worked. The current one used is

http://www.age.ne.jp/x/maxwell/cgi-bin/prxjdg.cgi

I was unable to leech any using AD as well. Would it be helpful to mention that I get all timeouts on proxies checked from lists that I've found?

Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for the suggestion Darkmoon. I downloaded APL and the tutorial. For some strange reason, I am unable to see the icons on the right in APL.

OK, next question. Are you running winxp with sp2 installed?

i take it is XP...but if it is 2003 Sp1...it could still be the infamous TCP/IP connect limits imposed by M$....else thanx a lot for the judge...it works like a charm in my charon : )

Now I am getting some proxies however all I get are timeouts when I test them. I've taken the fine advice you all have given but I'm still scratching my head over this one.

Yeah, that judge is fine so that is definately not the problem.

Can you use a proxy in your browser? Is there a difference between what happens with a port 80 proxy compared to a proxy using a different port? So I am obviously looking at what blocks you. firewall? isp? like that kind of thing.
