take the proxy part and install in your browser. For ie it is tools>internet options>connections>Lan or dial up settings, which ever you have.

No, The proxy does not go in as part of the url. It is placed in you connection settings as I described. Read it again, I tell you exactly how to put it into internet explorer. If you are using another browser say which one.

There use to be a sticky about how to do this in various browsers but I'm not sure if it is up anymore or which forum it might be in. Perhaps it didn't get carried over from the old forum. Anyway, I'm bored so I'll explain how to do it in IE and FireFox ( Sly's explanation was totally correct but I'll try to make it easier to understand for those totally unfamiliar with such things. ).

Internet Explorer

In the toolbar at the top of the screen ( When you have IE up and running ) look for "Tools" and click that. In the drop-down menu that appears click "Internet Options" at the bottom. Then at the top of that menu there will be several different tabs. Click the one labeled "Connections". Ok, if you are on dial-up look for where it says "Dial-up and Virtual Private Network settings". There will be a few icons right by that. Click the one that says "Settings". About halfway down the window it will say "Proxy server". Underneath that check where it says "Use a proxy server for this connection ( These settings will not apply to other connections. )". Then type or paste the proxy that you will be using in the "Address:" and "Port" fields directly underneath that. The address of the proxy is the numbers before the colon. The port is the numbers after the colon. If you have a broadband connection on the "Connections" tab look at the bottom of the menu. Where it says "LAN Settings" click that. Then just do the same thing in that window that I explained to do with a dial-up connection. Then click "OK", and then "Apply".

Firefox

This is a bit more simple. At the top of the screen find in the toolbar where it say "Tools" and click that. Then click "Options" in the drop-down menu that appears. At the bottom of this menu will be an icon that says "Connection Settings". Click that. Then check where it says "Manual proxy configuration". Where it says "HTTP Proxy:" type in or paste the proxy you will be using in the form field directly to the right. Then enter the port of the proxy where it says "Port:' immediately to the right of that. Once again the way it works is that the text of the proxy address before the colon goes into the first field and the part after the colon goes into the port field. Then click "OK" and then "OK" again in the next menu.

Note that to be really anonymous ( Well, as anonymous as you can be anyway. ) you need to disable your scripts and active x controls in addition to using an anonymous proxy server.
